Nationals Stadium a hit

I would like to say that Nationals Stadium, home to the Washington Nationals, is a hit with me. It is a really nice ballpark.
It is easy to get to on the metro. In fact, I don’t know why anyone would want to get their any other way. It is that easy. There are some parking garages right next to the stadium and they weren’t even full. Now I don’t know what they were charging though.

Some suggestions in just my first look and experiences.

  • They need more ways to sell tickets to the walk-up crowd. They had all their windows open plus some stand-alone kiosks and it took quite a while to get through the line. Also have attendants at the stand-alone kiosks. There were some problems (tickets not printing) and there was no one to help the people who had a problem. Continue reading “Nationals Stadium a hit”

VH1 Classic brings back memories

On my flight today on Frontier Airlines I was watching VH1 Classic andTotally 80’s. The clothing and hair is bad, id don’t remember it bad
then, was it?

The type of music they are playing is quite diverse also. The set
started with Bobby Brown, then to the Go Gos, .38 Special, and then
Depeche Mode. Quite diverse.

For some reason I like the 80’s.

Air Travel

Even though it is a burden sometimes, going on an airplane flight isstill interesting, fun, and adventurous.

I am heading out on a short business trip and having the ability to fly
somewhere in a few hours and be in a city that you are not used to is
intriguing. It is always fun if you haven’t been somewhere before or
have been somewhere many times.

It is always interesting on the ride in on the shuttle from the parking
lot. Where are people going? Are they on a business trip? Or is it a
vacation? It is always fun.

Today there was a couple going to Port Townsend, Wash., to see there new
grad niece; an older couple flying to Stockton, Calif.,; a younger
couple heading off to vacation in Jamaica; and a man heading to Tampa
Bay for a business meeting.

As you can see, it is an intresting group of people heading to different
areas of the country or world.

Finally, it was a relaxing early morning at the airport. It was nice to
take a few minutes to enjoy breakfast, watch the airport wake-up and see
the first few flights take-off. Denver International Airport is sure
beautiful and relaxing in the morning.

Air travel is not as a glamerous as it once was, but it is still
something that intrigues and excites me.

Good job United Airlines

I have previously given United Airlines a hard time for their serviceand most of it is deserved. The flight attendants on my flight to Salt
Lake City this morning were gruff with all the passengers.

But when they do something good I want to recognize them also. I am
flying on United Flight 526 from Salt Lake City back to Denver and there
were two soldiers on our flight. There were some open seats in first
class and the flight crew moved them there.

The flight crew was also really nice and helpful. I really enjoyed
flying with them back to Denver.

Good job United!

Ace Hardware To Start Recycling CFL Bulbs

cbs4denver.com – Ace Hardware To Start Recycling CFL Bulbs
I just want to say that I will probably be shopping more at Ace Hardware.  I think that this is a pretty good deal.

I use CFL’s in my house and just had a couple fail and replaced them and I didn’t know where to recycle them. Most of the places that I have seen want to charge me.

But having a place where I can recycle it for free and get my other hardware needs, I can’t beat that.

I just want to thank Ace Hardware, Xcel Energy, and others for doing this.  A great decision!

The Making of Flagpole Sitta Lib Dub

A while back I posted a lib dub that set off the craze of lib dubs. The staff at Vimeo did Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger and it was wonderful plus they did it in one take. It made me want to work there and made me buy the album by Harvey Danger, Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone?.
Well they have now released a making off video and it really shows how much fun they have working there and doing this lip dub.

Great job!

Mothers Bistro a great place to eat in Buena Vista

I was going through Buena Vista, Colorado for work last week and it was lunch time and a co-worker and I headed to Mothers Bistro. My co-worker had been there before and highly recommended it.
Well we weren’t disappointed. It was a great meal and a nice place to relax as we were driving back from our meeting.

My co-worker had the daily quiche and I had the ham and sharp cheddar panini. Let me just say it was delicious. In fact, all the food looked delicious and the staff was wonderful. It was almost like eating lunch at home.

The food is brought out to you, but during the day, you bus your own table. Something that I don’t mind doing.

It took all of our willpower to not get desert. It looked scrumptious.

So if you are going through Buena Vista, head east on Main Street from Highway 24 and stop by Mothers Bistro. You won’t be disappointed.

Avalanche win Game 5!

The Avalanche withstood a relentless firestorm from the Minnesota Wild and won 3-2 to take a 3-2 lead in the best of 7 series.
The Wild came out hitting hard and trying to do everything to shake up the Avalanche, but they couldn’t and the Avalanche scored the first goal.  The Wild evened it up with a power play goal late in the 1st period.

The second period was played to a draw, but the Avalanche came out and won the third period by getting two quick goals from Wolski and Stastny.  The Wild got their second goal with under two seconds left.

The Avalanche played strong and smart and won the game.  They didn’t take any stupid penalties and kept at it.

They have a chance to close-out the series on Saturday night. Let’s hope they can do that!

Go AVS!

Colorado Rockies have great television commercials

The Colorado Rockies have great television commercials. The ads are produced in-house and are quite creative. Last years were pretty funny, especially the high altitude baking one.
But they have gotten a lot better this year since the Rockies won the National League last year.

The stars one makes fun of themselves, the Tulo takes advantage of the Tulo chant, Holliday touched it makes a play on words from the play-in game last year, and the best of them all is Spillbourghs’ Spilborghs’ seed lessons.

Go take a look.
