Youth football team gets into playoffs, then removed

9NEWS – Article – Youth football team gets into playoffs, then removed
This is just sad for the kids who were supposed to play in the game, the Panther Gold.

The parents of the team that was banned from the playoffs should be ashamed of themselves.  Their coach violated the rules, the team needs to abide by the rules and deal with the consequences.

What does this say to the kids?  I think one of the kids said it perfectly in the piece, that it is ok to cheat.

Denver Broncos are pathetic

The Denver Broncos are pathetic this year.  The defense is porous, the offense can’t hold onto a football, and they shouldn’t have any wins the way that they have played.
The receivers can’t even hold onto a pass that is thrown right into their hands.  YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL, CATCH THE BALL!

They players are being paid to play this game.  They need to step up and play like it.

The Fall of Nebraska Cornhusker Football Continues, YES!

The fall of the Nebraska Cornhuskers continues. At the end of the second quarter they have allowed Kansas to put 48 points on them. That is amazing. Who would have thought that they would have fallen so far.
They are going to have a tough time making a bowl game this year. They are now 4-5 on the season and have if they lose this game they will be 4-6. They will have to win the two remaining games, home against Kansas State and on the road at Colorado. Two tough games against teams that are a lot better than they are. My bet, 4-8 finish for the Cornhuskers.

They should have known better than to hire Bill Callahan as a coach. He was a failure with the Oakland Raiders and is now with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He will certainly be fired as the coach after this season. Continue reading “The Fall of Nebraska Cornhusker Football Continues, YES!”

Rockies Tickets, anyone?

Rockies tickets, anyone?
This is a great opinion column in today’s Rocky Mountain News that addresses the ethics of what the Rockies did and how the Rockies handled distributed tickets.

From a business and public relations standpoint, the Rockies messed up.  They limited the tickets to a few who could get in to the computer system.  It created a lot of unhappy people.

From what I understand what happened, once people got in to purchase tickets, they could stay in there and purchase tickets.  This alienated many of the Rockies fans who for some reason were unable to get in. Continue reading “Rockies Tickets, anyone?”

Congrats to the Red Sox

Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox on winning the 2007 World Series.
They played the best baseball throughout this Series and deserved to win.

The Colorado Rockies had a wonderful season and fought to the end.  I think this is only the beginning of a wonderful run for the Colorado Rockies.  They have good base of players, a good minor league system, and a good future.

See you in April.  Go Rockies!

World Series Game 4 not going well…

Well Aaron Cook has done what he has had to do in the game so far.  He has kept the Boston Red Sox in check and has given up only two runs.
The problem is that he has no run support.  The Rockies had lead-off hitters at second with no outs a couple of times, but they have not been able to get them home.

The bats need to awaken and the Rockies hitters need to relax.

Let’s go Rockies!

Getting Ready for Game Four of the World Series

It is now time for the Rockies to get going and win a game in the World Series, or it will be time to go home.
The Rockies offense began to wake-up in game 3, but the pitching has still be abysmal.   They will need an all-out-effort tonight to have any chance to be the Red Sox.

Let’s have a good game.  Go Rockies!

Rockies Go Down 2 Games to 0 in the World Series

Well the Colorado Rockies went down 2 games to 0 losing to the Boston Red Sox tonight in Game 2 of the World Series.
The Rockies are now making the mental errors, almost trying to hard.  You could see that in the Top of the eighth when Matt Holliday got picked off first base.  They are also horrible with runners in scoring position.  I think something like 1-12.  This is something that they did quite well in the previous two series.

But tonight I think the umpiring was working against them also.  Laz Diaz, the homeplate umpire, had a lot bigger strike zone for the Red Sox than he did for the Rockies.  This was especially true for the right-handed hitters of the Rockies.

Several times Diaz called a strike that was several inches off the plate or high in the strike zone.  The Rockies never got those pitches called a strike.

The game changes a lot for Game 3 on Saturday night when the Red Sox have to play National League Baseball and sit one of their hot bats.  I think that it will be a different game.  Rockies will win Game 3.

Go Rockies!

Rockies World Series Tickets, Was It A Malicious Attack?

I am beginning to have more and more questions about whether it was a malicious attack that brought down the Paciolan servers on Monday when the Colorado Rockies World Series Tickets went on sale Monday, October 22.
Here are some questions/points that are leading me to believe that Paciolan is covering up their failure to anticipate the server load that descended upon them.

  1. The contract that they have with Major League Baseball and their 700 other clients is probably huge.  They wouldn’t want to risk failing on a task as big as this and risk losing their contract.
  2. In July, 2007, they announced that they have reached an agreement with Ticketmaster to be acquired.  Paciolan would not want to risk anything that would jeopardize that agreement.  The sale to Ticketmaster probably brought a lot of money to the founders and investors of Paciolan.
  3. A lot of people were trying to get tickets.  They say that 8.5 million hits were made against their server in 90 minutes that the tickets were on sale.  In looking at the interest in these tickets and the problems that everyone was having, this is not that far-fetched.
