Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Votes a Sham!

I just want to say the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year is a sham! ONE BIG SHAM!
They had voting throughout the fall for coach of the year. This was to be a vote of the fans. But it didn’t turn out that way.

University of Idaho football coach Robb Akey was in fourth place when the initial vote ended. When the finalists were announced, he was no where to be found. NO WHERE!

Coach Akey, in his third year at Idaho, took a team that won three games the previous year to a 7 win season and Idaho’s first bowl appearance since 1998. They will be playing Bowling Green in the Humanitarian Bowl on December 30.

What happened? Who knows.

Liberty Mutual totally ignored the vote of the fans who came to their site, promoted this vote on Twitter and Facebook, and turned their backs on them. This is a total failure of the process.

Liberty Mutual, if you want to dive into the social media world, dive in.  If you want a true social media experience, use the fans votes. Don’t come up with your own plan and use the people like that.

What is up RIM?
Last week your Blackberry device had an outage on Verizon and T-Mobile and now tonight you have an outage for most of the Americas?

Why can’t you get it right?

Many individuals and businesses depend on your service and one of your key points in going with your service is your up-time. Right now things are not going so well.

Hopefully you get this fixed quickly, but right now it doesn’t look like it will.

Problem with Posts Failing in WordPress

I have a problem when I am posting new posts in WordPress. Ever since I upgraded to WordPress 2.9, whenever I try to add a new post it fails. Luckily I had auto-save going.
I then would go in and edit the post and publish it and everything would work fine.

It just got quite frustrating doing this every single time I posted.

I didn’t have any luck on the WP Forums, but found a great post on ghacks.net about the issue. WordPress: Your attempt to edit this post has failed described my problem to the letter and had a possible fix. I did the fix and I am not having any problems right now. It works great.

The only issue now is that auto-save is disabled.

I hope someone can find the fix and I can turn autosave back on.

Cherry Creek North was crazy tonight

I don’t know what we were thinking tonight, but I met up with my wife, kids, and sister in-law in Cherry Creek North for dinner at the Cherry Cricket.
The problem is that Christmas is only a few days away and people were out spending money in the shops in Cherry Creek North and the mall at Cherry Creek.

My issue was with the parking garage between 1st and 2nd Avenues where Sears is located. I pulled into the parking garage, parked and then tried to get out. There was no signage and the only way out was through Sears.

Well when I got into Sears, it was worse than a than a casino in Las Vegas trying to get out of there. Even a clerk didn’t know how to explain how to get out of there. I eventually made it, but it was nuts.

It was then nuts trying to get back to my car. My wife’s car was in a different section of the building and they weren’t connected. I had to find my way back into Sears and back to my car. It was just ridiculous.

One thing wasn’t ridiculous was dinner tonight at the Cherry Cricket. The food was great and the service was exceptional. Check out my review.

Last thing, I know where I won’t be parking the next time we head down there. And it definitely won’t be around Christmas time.

CB Potts in Westminster needs some improvement

My family and I went out to CB & Potts in Westminster on Friday night and the experience was not that great.
Basically the service was horrible and the wait was about 5 times what they said it would be. They tried to blame it on a party at a table taking too long, but they sat many parties before we were even seated without them trying to get us a seat to fit our party of 6.

It will be a while before I go back. Hopefully they will improve in the near future.

This is just a pretty stupid move by the Washington, D.C., detective. You don’t pull your gun if you get snowballs thrown at you during a neighborhood snowball fight.

A police officer should only pull their gun on someone when they fell their life is threatened. I don’t think getting snowballs thrown at you equals a life threatening moment.

It is just a bunch of neighbors out there enjoying the snow.

You screwed the pooch on this one Facebook

Facebook, I just want to say that you really screwed the pooch on your new update to the privacy settings.
People who had their profiles locked down with your old privacy settings now found them opened to the world and people who didn’t want to be found on Facebook, were starting to get found.

Now there is something to being said that if you don’t want to be found, then don’t get on Facebook. But people who went on Facebook and set the privacy settings to not be found in the people search are now being found.

One of them is my mother.

She got on Facebook to keep up with her kids, grandkids, and a friends she found. She didn’t want anyone else to friend her. But with your new settings, she is beginning to get found and is now getting off Facebook.

Because of your greed and wanting to opening up our privacy to the world, you are now losing customers. And now my mother will not be able to keep up with us on Facebook.

You have done this a few other times where you have messed with our privacy and you got hurt. I am wondering how many more times it will take for you to get the mess up to get the message.
