For some strange reason I want more quarterlife

For some strange reason I have become quite interested in quarterlife. The part of the site that I am interested in is an internet only broadcast that follows a group of twenty-somethings who are trying to find their place in life.
The segments are only about 7-10 minutes and they have now hit the 36 episodes they have produced, but I want more. Marshall Herskovitz, one of the creators has posted that, “To our new viewers and members — yes, we’ve come to the end of the 36 episodes that we produced — but we’re working very hard to bring you new episodes as soon as we can. Keep watching the site for announcements — also for announcements about new content we’re producing.”

Here, check out the trailer. Continue reading “For some strange reason I want more quarterlife”

Jonathan Coultan performs Still Alive with Leo Laporte, Merlin Mann, and Veronica Belmont in Rock Band

I like Jonathan Coulton’s music and like listening to Veronica Belmont, Merlin Mann, and Leo Laporte.
It is a pretty funny video and they did pretty good on the song in Rock Band.

You can read more about Veronica’s experience on her blog. If you haven’t seen any of Veronica’s Video Podcast on Mahalo Daily, on a couple of episodes she breaks out the guitar and plays guitar hero. She is pretty good.

Freezing in Grand Central Station

This has been out for a while (early February) but I thought that I would post it on my blog. This is pretty cool. Imagine walking into Grand Central Station in New York City and seeing about 100 people frozen in place. Some were pretty dedicated.

Tully an enjoyable, but sad movie

I just finished watching Tully. It was an enjoyable movie set in rural Nebraska. It was quite an enjoyable movie, but at the same time it was sad and depressing. I won’t give away any spoilers, but it is worth watching. It is from 2002, but still pretty good.
I don’t know how I came to put this in my queue on Netflix, but somehow I did and I am quite glad. If you have seen the movie, let me know.

Stephen Colbert’s Portrait Garnering Great Attention

Well the National Portrait Gallery has garnered great attention lately by placing a photo of Stephen Colbert in the National Portrait Gallery. According to the Smithsonian, Colbert wanted his portrait to hang in the National Portrait Gallery.
After much thought and contemplation, they found an appropriate site to place the portrait, between two bathrooms and above a water fountain. I think it was appropriate.

Stephen Colbert's Portrait

It is amazing what attention this portrait is garnering. Throughout my stay at the National Portrait Gallery, I walked through most of the exhibition and it was quite enjoyable. All of the artwork is excellent and they have some wonderful exhibits that are there.

But the one portrait that is garnering the most attention is the portrait of Colbert. When I first went up to the second floor I saw this big crowd standing near the portraits of the Presidents. I thought this was a group touring the Portrait Gallery and American Art Museum and I went the other way.

Well, it wasn’t a group. It was a large crowd, that all look like they are in college, waiting to get the photo and look at the portrait of Colbert. It has certainly brought a lot of people to the museum who probably wouldn’t have come to visit. It is bringing in a lot of publicity and I think it was a good call to post the portrait.

So if you are in Washington, D.C., take some time and go enjoy the National Portrait Gallery and American Art Museum. And the portrait of Stephen Colbert.

Britney blindsided by Dr. Phil

Britney blindsided by Dr. Phil – Celebrities- msnbc.com
I first want to say that I hope Britney gets the help that she needs. She definitely has gone off the deep end.

This visit by Dr. Phil looks more like a publicity stunt and ratings booster for Dr. Phil then someone who wants to help her. If he wanted to help her, he would have worked through the family and Britney to arrange a visit. Not just show up.

I am amazed that he was able to get through hospital security. It shows that there are two sets of rules. One for us normal folks and one for celebrities.
