Google has announced on their blog that they are now rolling out IMAP for GMAIL. I am just going to say one-thing, YEAH!
I enjoy using the web application, but if I can sync my email and manage it locally on a device and it will sync back with the online version, I am all for that.
POP was good in its time, but IMAP is so much better.

Yeah, but sadly my gmail account still doesn’t allow me to enable IMAP…just pop. I guess I’ll keep checking back to see if I can turn it on. My parents’ gmail account and a second one I sometimes use can be IMAP enabled. Go figure.

I have the same issue. I am not allowed to set this up yet. I am hoping that it comes soon.
