I just want to say that they pop-over ads on the DenverPost.com and RockyMountainNews.com websites are quite annoying.
They are ads for Furniture Row and pop over the whole page. The problem with the ads are that they have a close button, but it doesn’t work. It is like they are teasing us. I have also seen ads like this for Frontier Airlines.
I understand the need for newspapers to run ads on their sites, including pop-over ads. But if they have a close button it should work. I shouldn’t have to wait until it times out for the ad to close.
Don’t annoy us and we will come to your site. If you annoy us, we will leave and your numbers will go down and so will your ads.
Cyber Minimalist: How to Work (Almost) Completely Online | zen habits
This is a pretty interesting thing to contemplate doing. Just move all your work online. The problem is that there are times when you can’t be connected and that may be tough. They still do some stuff on their laptop, but they just push everything back online.
But the post mentions that he carries a moleskin notebook for those situations. That may help, but in my habits I have a hard time capturing that back online.
Something to think about and try.
More noise about Mac OS in redesigned iPods | One More Thing – CNET News.com
This is interesting and is long overdue. I think this will be extremely popular and will definitely be out in time to hit the holiday rush.
The worst thing is that my brother just bought a new one and then, possibly, a month later they come out with a new version.
Oh well, that always happens. When do you go out and buy some technology. They come out with something better pretty soon after that.
How I made my presentations a little better | 43 Folders
This is a pretty good discussion on how to do a presentation. I work for a science and engineering organziation and you wouldn’t believe how bad the PowerPoint presentations I see.
It would be nice to get them to read it, but they won’t. They are engineers and they know everything.

According to their website, they will have more on Monday about what caused the issue.
I am glad that it is working again.

Well I am trying Opera again after continuously having problems with it in earlier versions, especially with WordPress which I use to manage this blog.
I am hoping the upgrade to 9.22 will improve how it works and how the webpages I view are displayed.
I know that Opera is a true browser and uses standards to display everything appropriately and that it is the web programmers fault for not developing to the standards.
Well, if I can’t read the websites that I want, then why should I use it.
Someone convince me.
Cisco axes Linksys branding – Engadget
Interesting since in the home market, Linksys is it in the United States. Cisco is more known for the business market even though they have been making Linksys systems for a while.
I think that this could come back and haunt Cisco because the consumer market does not like change that much, especially something that they know. And what they know is Linksys.
TiVo HD DVR is the newest Series3, TiVoToGo coming back – Engadget
This is pretty good news. I love the Tivo DVR’s and have two of them already in my house.
I see the bigger problem here trying to get the cable cards out of my cable provider, Comcast.
I just wish that TiVo ToGo would work with HD content. But it is a start.
Yea TiVo!
