The Rockies are driving me crazy!

Well they have a wonderful series and sweep the Yankees, including the previous 7 series.
They then go to Toronto and lose on Friday night, a game they should have won.  And then get killed the next two games, games they had no chance.

Then tonight, they were down 8-3 going to the Top of the 9th and come up with 6 runs, capped off with a home run by Tulowitski.  But then in the bottom of the 9th, they give up two runs on some weird plays and lose 10-6.

They are driving me crazy.

The offense is there, but the pitching has disappeared.  The pitchers need to step up and make things right so the team can start the run again.  They are playing teams that they should be beating, so they need to get it done.

Rockies Defeat the Yankees Again!

The Colorado Rockies beat the New York Yankees again tonight, 6-1.
It was an amazing night and a lot closer than the score shows.  Up until the sixth inning, it was 0-0 and a classic pitchers duel.

But in the sixth, the Yankees put together a couple of hits and got a run across.  But in the bottom of the sixth, Matt Holliday crushed a 442 foot home run up onto the concourse in left field to give the Rockies the lead for good. Continue reading “Rockies Defeat the Yankees Again!”

Rockies Beat the Yankees

The Colorado Rockies played an incredible game tonight and beat the New York Yankees 3-1 in a well played game on both sides.
Josh Fogg lead the Rockies holding them to only one run that was scored on a ground-out early in the game.  The pitching tonight was capped with a strike-out of Johnny Damon by Fuentes to get the save.

Taveras got the scoring going when he scored on a single by Atkins and Torrealba capped the scoring with a home run to right-center field.

The sell-out crowd kept drowning out the Yankees fans in the crowd who tried to rally the visiting team.  Let’s Go Yankees turned to Let’s Go Rockies!

Way to go Rockies and lets go get them tomorrow night.

A more fair US Open today

The U.S. Open was by far more fair to the golfers today than yesterday.
If you hit it in the fairway and hit the greens, you could score.  If you didn’t, you were penalized.  That is the way it is supposed to be.

Tiger Woods did a great job of course management until the 18th hole.  He just missed some puts he should have made earlier in the round.  Aaron Baddeley had a wonderful round including getting a birdie on the last hole.

It is going to be a fun day tomorrow with Woods and Baddeley in the last group.

US Open – Too Tough

The U.S. Open is supposed to be a tough, but fair test, but it is not being fair today.
But with scores soaring today and players unable to keep their approach shots on the green, it is not a fair test for the players.

If you are in the fairway and land the ball at the front of the green and it is so fast that it rolls off the back, then it is not fair.

The U.S. Open has gone too far in this U.S. Championship.  Make it fair so it is fun for the players and fans.

Reporter Blogging NCAA Regional Baseball Game Kicked Out

A reporter for The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Kentucky, was told that blogging at games was against NCAA regulations and was escorted from the game.
Brian Bennett had been blogging the third game of the Louisville – Oklahoma State Super Regional baseball game, just like he had done the previous two games when he was approached by a representative of the NCAA and told what he was doing violated NCAA regulations and the NCAA official pulled his credential for the game.
