Rosie runs away

Rosie didn’t want to stick around and have an intelligent conversation and she has asked for an early exit from her contract at ABC.
Throughout the whole argument on the view, Rosie wouldn’t let Elizabeth speak and she kept raising her voice.

She is a bitter person.

She is a good actress, has worked on many projects and done some pretty good things in this world.  But she has gone of the deep end on this one.

It got personal with her and instead of trying to have a civilized converstation or discussion, she got really offensive and didn’t want to listen to what anyone had to say.

Now she is running away from the place that gave her a forum to make things better.

You can read more on the story, “O’Donnell walks out on ‘The View’“.

Rosie is an idiot

Yesterday on The View Rosie O’Donnell took a conversation that was very interesting and engaging, something that does not happen much on The View, and made it mean and attacked Elizabeth Hasselback. She was attacking Elizabeth for not defending her. There are people every day defending her right to say her idiotic things and she never backs them and she attacks them whenever she gets the chance, and that is our military.
Rosie-what is happening in Iraq to the people of Iraq and our troops is stupid, clan warfare that has been going on for centuries with a little opportunistic terrorism thrown in because our troops are being proactive and fighting terrorism. The only reason why this wasn’t happening before in this country was that people were in fear of Saddam Hussein.

The Iraqi people who are causing this clan warfare need to get with the 21st Century and learn that you can’t get anywhere by blowing people up or killing them just because they are a different religion or clan than yourself. Many Iraqis were happy when we came over there and removed Saddam from power.

He was a madman who was killing whole cultures and driving his country into the ground. But than instead of trying to move forward, they started trying to get even for years of tyranny and that was not right.

The Iraqi government needs to be the solution here and if they can’t do it, a new government needs to be brought in. It is a tough job, but they have to do it. Otherwise the whole middle east is going to implode and there will be a new war.

A Great Testimonial – Death by Veganism

In an op-ed in the New York Times, “Death by Veganism” Nina Planck wrote a great story about the nutrition that a baby needs.
For those of you who haven’t heard, a couple was convicted of murder, involuntary manslaughter, and curelty for only feeding their baby soy milk and apple juice. Their baby died.

In her article, Planck writes about the nutrition that a baby needs and it is lot more than a vegan diet offers.

The best thing for a baby is breast milk and my wife breast feed our two children. But if the mother is not getting the necessary nutrients, the baby will not get the necessary nutrients.

A vegan diet may be good for some people, but you need to be careful and make sure that you get the right nutrients. But if you are a mother who is breastfeeding or vegan parents, it is necessary to make sure that you and your baby are getting the correct nutrients to grow a healthy baby.

Scientology Followers Harass Journalist

Scientology followers are harassing a journalist from England who is trying to do a story on their “religion” or how I think of it, a cult.
I agree with the BBC reporter, John Sweeney, that their actions are weird, sinister and outright scary.

In an article that was run on the BBC website, “Row over Scientology video“, he describes the harassment he has experienced since he started working on his story that will air soon on the BBC.

With all his experiences and other things that I have seen and heard, this group is nuts and definitely a cult.

New York Times Electronic Publication

Well I just signed up for the New York Times Electronic Edition. It was free for seven days and then is going to become a version that charges
In the process, it kept having page failures and it created two accounts for me. But in their account maintenance page, I must call a phone number in order to cancel. The New York Times uses a service called NewsStand. I would stay away from it if I were you.

This is ridiculous. I should be able to cancel my subscription/account online without having to call someone.

Finally, I am not impressed with the service that they. It allows me to download to my computer and browse offline, but I want it in PDF, not whatever weird form that they have.

Improve the service and I may come back.

Let’s just give up war on terror

Well, if you believe Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) that the war is lost and we should just give up.
Last I knew America does not do that.  We owe the people of Iraq to create a stable and healthy environment, regardless of how you think we got into this.

Reid is using one horrible day of violence in Baghdad to say the ramp up of troops has failed.  Well there have been some successes up until yesterday and the build-up is not complete.

To say that, the day after the terrorists created mayhem, gives the terrorists the feeling that they need to keep what they are doing and we will just leave.  It is almost like Reid is giving aid to the enemy.

This only disheartens our troops and emboldens the terrorists.

Get a clue Reid!

Fuel Discounts Return, Yeah!

Up until this fall, Safeway and King Soopers provided a fuel discount at their gas stations depending on how much you spent in their grocery store.
But, when two west slope gas distributors filed a lawsuit saying that if violated a state law for selling something below cost and hurting competition. A judge agreed and ruled what Safeway and King Soopers were doing as illegal, and they stopped.

But, the state legislature came through and Governor Ritter signed the bill and the gas discounts are back.

At Safeway, with a club card, you get $.03 per gallon, but if you spend $50 in the store, you get $.10 off per gallon. At King Soopers has yet to announce their plan.

Why do I feel the way I do about the Virgina Tech massacre

I don’t know why I feel the way I do about the Virgina Tech massacre. For some reason I feel a connection to the campus, the students, the community, and everything else that I am watching.
I have been having this sorrowful and empty feeling ever since this happened.

In thinking about this as I was driving home from work this evening and discussing it with my wife, I think I figured out why.

The reason that I feel the way that I do is that Virgina Tech and Blacksburg, Virgina are similar where I went to school at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho.

Even though Idaho is a smaller school and Moscow is a smaller town, it is a close-knit campus and community. In listening to the studens describe their friends and their relations on campus and with the community, it is really similar. It just hit really close to home for me.

I am amazed how the students, faculty, and staff are handling all this tragedy and attention. My thoughts and prayers are with them as they move forward.

And my thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. I wish there was something that I could say to the families that would ease their pain and loss. But besides praying for them, there is not much more that I can do right now.

God Bless.

What is with the blowhards…

I am wondering what is with the blowhards who are appearing on the cable networks spouting off like they could have done a better job handling the shootings today at Virginia Tech.
If you listen to the timeline, as soon as the second shooting began the police where there and tried to get to the gunman. But the gunman had chained the doors shut and it delayed them getting it, by most 2 minutes.

Also, there is no way that this campus could have been shut down at the time. There were over 16,000 students trying to get to class and moving about. There is no easy way to control that many people.

I just wish the media and blowhard pundits would shut up until all the facts are known. To me, they are more of the problem than the solution.

The media needs to be more responsible and stop looking to blame the school and the police. The person who is responsible is now dead. That is who is responsible for this.
