New Rapids Stadium Looks Sweet
Well the new Colorado Rapids soccer stadium looks real nice and it is going to help the team the metro Denver region in the eyes of the worlds soccer elite. The Denver Post had a wonderful article and spread in todays edition.
But there is one problem in how the fans are going to experience the game. They are going to allow tailgating, but they are not going to allow alcohol in the parking lots. What is with this? Wanting to get people into the spirit of the games but not allowing alcohol.
Give me a break. Even though you don’t need alcohol to have fun, alcohol is part of tailgating.
If Colorado wants to be taken seriously, Commerce City will get with it and allow alcohol in the parking lots. Otherwise Colorado will not become the laughing stock of the soccer world.

Jib Jab Does It Again
JibJab has done it again and come up with a great cartoon parody.
This time they have done it with the news. They have hit it right on. The news has gone slowly down hill as they try to be profitable instead of reporting the news.
See What We Call The News by JibJab.
If you want to read up more on the news and what is happening, Frontline had a great documentary on it. You can watch the whole thing online, News War.
For me, you can look at all the latest news regarding Anna Nicole Smith. Why is that news? I think that we have much more going on in this world that affects more people than what is happening with Anna Nicole Smith.
It would be nice to see better news presentation out there, but with the drive for money and to be profitable it won’t happen.
Bloggers and Online Users Need to Play Nice
There has been a lot of discussion and posts lately on threats and bad references on the blogs. Particularly threatening were posts and comments to one blogger that she can canceled a presentation.
This has got to stuff. When someone who posts something that threatens someone else, it is not protected speech. Treating people like that is stupid and wrong.
I don’t know if we need to have a code of conduct, but we need to treat others on the Internet with respect. We don’t need to be threatening other people.
If people insist on doing this, they need to be delink and not taken seriously in the blogging world. People should feel safe to blog and surf the Interent.
I had some problems when I first launched this blog. I was complaining about the service I was getting from UPS and some idiot was trying to threaten me down for stuff that he didn’t know. People like that need to go away and get a life. He was such a coward that he wouldn’t give his email or his real name.
You can’t threaten people to get what you want. It only emboldens them more to talk about the issues.
Use your words to defend or state your position, don’t use your words to threaten people.
Four for Four in NCAA Tournament
Well I picked the eight teams in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament and with the comeback of Georgetown my bracket is now perfect for the Final Four.
It will be nice to see how this comes out next weekend and see if I can be perfect.
Not that I am perfect in the tournament, I picked some upsets that didn’t happen and I was down on myself, but I picked the right teams to keep moving through.
Doing great for now, we’ll see what happens.
New Tips and Security Clips for Bose TriPort In-Ear Headphone
For those of you who have the Bose TriPort In-Ear Headphone, you may know of the problem that the new gel pieces don’t really stay in your ear. They kinda fall-out and off of the headphone.
I even had some of the plastic pieces fall off and was unable to find it in my hotel room.
Well, Bose has listened and they have updated the gel pieces and are providing them to free to people who have previously purchased them. And in June, they will also ship free to you a clip to put on your cable and a lanyard if you want to use that.
This is good of Bose and I am looking forward to the new gel pieces and clip.

Apple TV is Incredible!
Well I went out over the first weekend and bought Apple TV. I had been looking at this for something to help get my content from my computer to my TV.
I do not like the idea of media center and the other products in the category were just too complicated. Since I use iTunes and have an iPod I found that it would be best to go with Apple TV.
Well it was simple. I opened the box and found the Apple TV and a power cord. Also enclosed was some documentation.
Set up couldn’t have been easier. I hooked up the component and audio cables to my HDTV and hooked up a Ethernet cable to my home network.
I turned on the TV and tuned it to the input for the Apple TV and there it was. I choose English as the language, set the resolution to 720p and up popped a 5 digit number.
It was then off to iTunes on my computer to sync with the Apple TV. Already iTunes had picked it up and I just authenticated it to the device and it automatically began syncing all my TV shows, Movies, podcasts, and music.
Once I got everthing to the device and started playing content, it was amazing. I updated all my video podcasts from the iPod version to the H.264 version and the resolution was a great improvement. The quality is like watching a DVD on my 1080i TV. Remember, the video quality out is as good as what goes in. So if you have a lower resolution input, there will be a lower resolution output.
The only thing that I have a complaint about is a couple of my things won’t copy over to the the Apple TV and it gives me a warning each time that it syncs that it can’t copy that over. It would be nice that it would allow me to turn that off, but I can’t find anything right now.
Other than that, I am truly impressed with Apple TV. When Apple does something, it does it right. It looks nice, it is a simple set-up, and I am now watching video on my TV from my computer.
It does not get any better than this.

The Year Without Toilet Paper
In looking around the New York Times website today I found this story, The Year Without Toilet Paper.
The premise of the story is that this family is living a year in New York doing their best to not have an impact on the earth. No trash, nothing grown outside a 250-mile radius of Manhattan, not using the elevator, nothing that uses fossil fuels, or toilet paper.
This is an interesting idea and experiment for a book, but this is something that I couldn’t do. These days it would be pretty hard to do this, especially with my wife.
I am not meaning that we are not doing our part to reduce our footprint. We drive a hybrid, we have replaced most of our light bulbs with compact flourescent bulbs, walk to the grocery store when I can, and try to recycle as much as we can.
But I couldn’t live without toilet paper.
Scott Wells on his blog Boys in the Band has a pretty good point in his blog post, Make some impact, effectively,:
Look at your checkbook. It should be pretty easy to pick out the parts of your life that deserve an sustainability and environmental audit. Let’s say housing and property maintainance, electricity and fuel, transportation, food, medical and health care and charitable giving.
I think all of us should look at how we are impacting the world and do our part to reduce our impact and footprint. We should do what is best for ourself and our family.
I wish Beavan and Conlin well. And I will be looking for the book and documentary when they come out. You can follow their year at noimpactman.com.
Cinegrill
Well I was in Salt Lake City this week for a day for work and went out to this place for lunch called Cinegrill.
There were a lot of items on the menu, but I settled for the lasagna and it came with house salad.
House salad? This thing was a mountain. It came out with a mountain of salad with the house Italian dressing and a piece of garlic bread. It was huge and good.
The lasagna was served in a bowl with a lot of sauce and meat. It was not like a regular lasagna, but had noodles, meat, sauce, and cheese. It was delicious. The sauce was definitely worth it. It is some of the best sauce that I have had.
The restaurant has other items including burgers and corned beef. If you are downtown, take a minute and head to Cinegrill for lunch or dinner.
