Rosie is an idiot

Yesterday on The View Rosie O’Donnell took a conversation that was very interesting and engaging, something that does not happen much on The View, and made it mean and attacked Elizabeth Hasselback. She was attacking Elizabeth for not defending her. There are people every day defending her right to say her idiotic things and she never backs them and she attacks them whenever she gets the chance, and that is our military.
Rosie-what is happening in Iraq to the people of Iraq and our troops is stupid, clan warfare that has been going on for centuries with a little opportunistic terrorism thrown in because our troops are being proactive and fighting terrorism. The only reason why this wasn’t happening before in this country was that people were in fear of Saddam Hussein.

The Iraqi people who are causing this clan warfare need to get with the 21st Century and learn that you can’t get anywhere by blowing people up or killing them just because they are a different religion or clan than yourself. Many Iraqis were happy when we came over there and removed Saddam from power.

He was a madman who was killing whole cultures and driving his country into the ground. But than instead of trying to move forward, they started trying to get even for years of tyranny and that was not right.

The Iraqi government needs to be the solution here and if they can’t do it, a new government needs to be brought in. It is a tough job, but they have to do it. Otherwise the whole middle east is going to implode and there will be a new war.

A Great Testimonial – Death by Veganism

In an op-ed in the New York Times, “Death by Veganism” Nina Planck wrote a great story about the nutrition that a baby needs.
For those of you who haven’t heard, a couple was convicted of murder, involuntary manslaughter, and curelty for only feeding their baby soy milk and apple juice. Their baby died.

In her article, Planck writes about the nutrition that a baby needs and it is lot more than a vegan diet offers.

The best thing for a baby is breast milk and my wife breast feed our two children. But if the mother is not getting the necessary nutrients, the baby will not get the necessary nutrients.

A vegan diet may be good for some people, but you need to be careful and make sure that you get the right nutrients. But if you are a mother who is breastfeeding or vegan parents, it is necessary to make sure that you and your baby are getting the correct nutrients to grow a healthy baby.

City Park Golf Course Tough

Well I got out to golf this weekend and had a real tough go at it. I played the City of Denver course, City Park Golf Course.
This is an older course that is shorter than most, about 6500 yards. There is one par five on the front 9 and three on the back 9. But in the shortness of the course, they make that up with narrow fairways and small greens.

It was tough to make par if you missed the fairway. I had a good run through the middle part of the front 9, holes 3-7, and the one common denominator was that I put my tee shots in the fairway. When I missed the fairway, it was bogey or double-bogey city. I ended up shooting a 92 which was just over my handicap. Holding the ball on the green with your approach shots was almost impossible. They were a little hard. It was almost easier to land them short and let them run onto the green.

The greens fees were relatively inexpensive with the fees only being $41.50.

One thing to be aware of was that I was only going to play 9, but they said on weekends from 7 AM to 4 PM they do not allow 9 hole rounds. So I had to pay for 18. The only problem was that they don’t tell you that when you make your tee time or anywhere on their website. It is kinda a rip-off.

My overall impressions was that it was a good challenge. It made you hit good shots in order to score well. If you kept it in the fairway it rewarded you. If you missed, it penalized you. The way golf should be. They could make the greens more receptive for approach shots and the speed of play could have been faster. It got quite slow at times.

If you are ever staying in Denver, catch the views of downtown and the mountains from City Park Golf Course. It is worth it.

Scientology Followers Harass Journalist

Scientology followers are harassing a journalist from England who is trying to do a story on their “religion” or how I think of it, a cult.
I agree with the BBC reporter, John Sweeney, that their actions are weird, sinister and outright scary.

In an article that was run on the BBC website, “Row over Scientology video“, he describes the harassment he has experienced since he started working on his story that will air soon on the BBC.

With all his experiences and other things that I have seen and heard, this group is nuts and definitely a cult.

Congratulations University of Idaho Grads!

Today the University of Idaho, my alma mater, graduated over 1,600 people. What a great day to be a Vandal.

Sabbatini Explodes!

Yeah!
Sabbatini exploded today and shot a 79.

He is now out of the running for the championships.  He apparently can’t back up the talk.

I am so glad that he is no longer in the running.  He shouldn’t be on the tour if he can’t behave correctly.

Media Rights Technologies are nuts!

A company, Media Rights Technologies, has filed suit against Apple, Microsoft, Real Networks, Adobe and others for violating the DMCA by not using their product.
There product even works plugging a hole so that when it is played back it still can’t be copied.

To me this is a desperate attempt to get business and force people to use their software and a real weird take on the DMCA.

I doubt this will get anywhere and the companies that they are suing have a lot more money than they do.

If you can’t sell a product, you can’t threaten them in court. Get a clue and a life!

I hope Sabbatini loses

I hope Rory Sabbatini loses this weekends golf tournament.
His attitude is wrong for golf. Today is going after Tiger Woods (wrong move).

A couple of years ago he was upset for the slow play of Ben Crane that he walked off the green.

The thing with golf is that regardless of how you or your playing partners are playing, you treat them with respect. You don’t do what he did.

Since he did that to Crane, he lost any respect that I had for him as a professional golfer.

Now back to Woods, he had a bad day under tough conditions. But he won last week after trailing early in the tournament. I definitely wouldn’t be out saying stuff to make him mad.

Rio City Cafe – A decent place on the river

I am in Sacramento for work and decided to head down to old town to the Rio City Cafe.
It was a wonderful evening on the river as the sun set in the west and the ambiance was great, only when they turned the high speed fan off.

They had a wonderful wine menu, but I skipped that for the a nice cold Newcastle Brown.

For the main course, I had the Chimichurri Marinated New York Steak. It was served with mash potatoes and grilled asparagus. It was all delicious. It was served with sourdough biscuits that were classic sourdough.

I would recommend this restaurant if you are in the Sacramento area, especially if you can sit outside on the deck.

Tough Time for our family

It is a tough time for our family.
Our dog, a golden retriever, has been fighting lymphoma since last June and the chemotherapy is no longer working.

We had enrolled him in a special study at Colorado State University Vet Clinic and School and we thought it would give us a longer time with him.

CSU was nice and allowed us to do the chemo at Alameda East Vet Clinic.  They were wonderful throughout the whole process.

We have a little time left with him and will make the most of it.  He is a wonderful dog and a big member of our family.

He will be missed.
