Trying to get back into the world…

I have been dealing with a crisis at work the past couple weeks and it has been causing me 10-12 hour days and working some on the weekends. It has been crazy!!!!
I hope things will start settling down now and I can have a quiet weekend with no calls from the media.

It is going to be a crazy weekend here in Colorado. On Saturday it is supposed to be near 70 degrees in the Denver area and then by Sunday it is supposed to be snowing. Another crazy day in paradise.

Let’s have a nice quiet weekend so I can get caught up on sleep and then be ready for another week.

I just had to sneak a post out today. It is only once every four years you can post on February 29.

Jonathan Coultan performs Still Alive with Leo Laporte, Merlin Mann, and Veronica Belmont in Rock Band

I like Jonathan Coulton’s music and like listening to Veronica Belmont, Merlin Mann, and Leo Laporte.
It is a pretty funny video and they did pretty good on the song in Rock Band.

You can read more about Veronica’s experience on her blog. If you haven’t seen any of Veronica’s Video Podcast on Mahalo Daily, on a couple of episodes she breaks out the guitar and plays guitar hero. She is pretty good.

More Coverage of Rocky Mountain Rage and Colorado Eagles

I would like to call the local media on the carpet and would like to see more coverage of the Rocky Mountain Rage and Colorado Eagles. These two teams are fighting out for first place in the lead in the Northwest Division of the Central Hockey League and are playing some great hockey.
I know you say that they are only the minor leagues, but they are both putting an entertaining and quality product on the ice.

The Rage lost last night to the Eagles 4-1 to tie for the lead, but the Rage took that lead back this afternoon by beating the Eagles 7-1. I went with a couple friends and took the kids and we had a fun time. I’ll definitely be back.

It just would be nice to see some more coverage in the local media. Especially since the Denver Post had the time for today’s game wrong.

This is building into a pretty good rivalry and it will only get more intense as both teams fight for the division lead. Right now, it looks like these two teams will be fighting for that lead for the rest of the season.

Merlin Mann posts his time and attention talk

Merlin Mann has posted his presentation from Macworld on New Time and Attention Sinks. It is pretty interesting and I learned a lot about how many times I am really distracted from getting my things completed.
Take a look and let me know what you think.

Freezing in Grand Central Station

This has been out for a while (early February) but I thought that I would post it on my blog. This is pretty cool. Imagine walking into Grand Central Station in New York City and seeing about 100 people frozen in place. Some were pretty dedicated.

Apple TV Update is here

I just got an email this evening that said “Rentals are now available for your Apple TV.”
So what am I doing now?

Updating my Apple TV. This is going to be interesting to see how this works, how the user interface looks, and if I am going to like it.

I’ll let you know in a future post how this goes and what my experiences are.

BlackBerry service falters in North America

The Denver Post – BlackBerry service falters in N. America
This was quite inconvenient today. It is amazing how dependent I have become to my Blackberry, especially today.

It was down for me from about 1:15 PM to about 6 PM and drove me crazy because I was dealing with several media issues that I needed to be communicating with my office in Washington, D.C., Denver, and our office in Loveland and I was on the road going to an media interview.

To make matters worse, Verizon was quite slow in coming back online following when RIM got their part back online. More inconvenience. Thanks Verizon.

I just wish that RIM wouldn’t have these outages and they should work on a backup system so they have some redundancy built in. People are becoming more dependent on their Blackberry for communication, especially in emergency situations.

Do you have a Facebook?

I saw this on Chris Brogan’s blog and thought it raised some interesting questions about privacy and who is behind the money of Facebook.
It is interesting to think about. I don’t know if all this information gathering is taking place because of Facebook, I think it is something that would be talking place anyway.
