I am wondering why people try and cross interstate highways, in the middle of town, with a ton of traffic going across them?
The Rocky Mountain News had a story in Friday’s edition where someone was killed Friday evening for trying to cross Interstate 25 near 58th Avenue. This is just plan nuts! Continue reading “Why do people try and cross Interstate Highways?”
Flight on United Airlines from Washington National to Denver
I had a flight last night, June 8, from Washington National Airport to Denver International Airport and it did not go well.
Granted the pilot did what he could and made up almost 30 minutes, but we sat on the tarmac in DC for about an hour.

I am glad to be back home now.
Denver Post web feeds are a joke
I like to read news via RSS. I use Google Reader to read posts and I am trying to add the Denver Post to the reader so I can read the feeds.
But, they are driving me to use their own reader. I just want the feeds. Give me the feeds.
Contrast that to the Rocky Mountain News, the Post competitor, and they provide a whole page of rss feeds.
This is the way to do it. Make it easy for me to get and subscribe to the information. I always knew why I like the Rocky better.
Major League Baseball Too Restrictive In Broadcast of Games
I am a subscriber of the Premium MLB.TV. This is an online service that allows you to watch any MLB game on the Internet at 700k.
But MLB blacks-out your local market games, so for me I am unable to watch the Colorado Rockies games.
The only problem is that I am in Washington, D.C., on business travel. So I can’t watch the live broadcast as MLB and the Rockies would like.
It would be nice if I am traveling that I would be able to watch the game. I guess next year I won’t give MLB their money and I will put it towards a Slingbox. Continue reading “Major League Baseball Too Restrictive In Broadcast of Games”
Let’s Remember D-Day
Let’s remember today all those soldiers who gave their lives today, the 63rd Anniversary of D-Day.
They gave their lives protecting our country on foreign soil.
Let’s also remember all those soldiers who are serving in all-parts of the world today protecting our freedoms. There service is not unnoticed and appreciated.
Lefty O’Doul for the Baseball Hall of Fame
Like many of the baseball fans out there, I have heard of Lefty O’Doul before. But I didn’t know what he really did for baseball until I listened to a podcast on Sparkletack, Lefty O’Doul – the man in the green suit.
O’Doul grew up in San Francisco and went on to bigger and better things, but never forgetting his hometown by the bay.
He started his career as a pitcher for the San Francisco Seals before being drafted by the New York Yankees. But he didn’t do much there as a pitcher and was sold to the Boston Red Sox’s, but after four years his career as a pitcher was done. But he made a good friend on the Yankees that he kept for a lifetime, Babe Ruth. Continue reading “Lefty O’Doul for the Baseball Hall of Fame”
Rolling Rock Commercial – Bring your Cup!
This is one of the most innovative commercials that I have ever seen. It is great and they are getting some great views on YouTube.
Let me know what you think of this commercial.
You got to love the web and the commercials that are out there.
Apple cranks up iPhone blitz
The Denver Post – Apple cranks up iPhone blitz
In a story published by Newsday and carried by the Denver Post, the discuss they discuss how Apple is turning up the heat on advertising for the iPhone.
Apple was pretty quiet about the launch of this campaign, especially the date of release, June 29. Continue reading “Apple cranks up iPhone blitz”
Traffic.com Not Really User Friendly

I use Traffic.com sparingly to get notified of traffic problems on my way to or from work.
The reason I use it sparingly is that it doesn’t really tell me where the problem is. It only shows that there are “incidents” and what the delay in the drive time will be. That is it. (see screen shot to the left.)
It would be so much more helpful if they would show what the incidents are, where they are, and when they will be cleared up. Continue reading “Traffic.com Not Really User Friendly”
WordPress Email Post Problems
I don’t know why it is so difficult to have WordPress gather email that I send to a specific email address. This function seems that it would be easy. Send an email and have it captured in my blog.
For those of you who don’t know what is going on, you can read my experiences with this functionality in my tumblelog, Mile High Soapbox Light.
Why the WordPress software can’t seem to grab the email without stripping the body from the email, I just don’t know. Continue reading “WordPress Email Post Problems”
