Apple iPhone coming June 29th

Apple is now running commercials promoting the new iPhone and it is set to launch on June 29th.
It looks pretty cool. Let’s just hope that it holds up to expectations, the cost may be a limiting factor for many.

I won’t be getting one right away, but will definitely be interested once my current cell phone contract comes up for renewal.

Problems with Email Posts in WordPress

I am trying to figure out problems with email posts and WordPress.
Apparently the mail.php file is not working correctly and it is
stripping the body of the email prior to posting.

So all you get is a title and no body.

Well I am trying a new plug-in to see if that works now until WordPress
gets it working in 2.4.

It would be nice to get this working sooner, but I guess I will have to
live.

471 Double IPA From Breckenridge Brewery is a Great Beer

I like good beer, especially IPA’s, and when I stopped for lunch on Friday at the Breckenridge Brewery & Pub in Breckenridge, Colorado, I had to try the 471 Double IPA. The 471 Double IPA is part of the Breckenridge Brewery’s Small Batch Series.
You know you are in trouble when they tell you that they only serve the draft in 10-ounce servings because it is 9.2% alcohol by volume. This is quite a bit for a beer when most hover around the 6 to 7 percent range.

Simple Tagging for WordPress, Finally Working

Well it was not that simple, but I got Simple Tagging for WordPress working with my theme.
I first had to get the tags.php file working correctly and once I did that, it all started falling together.

Since I have that working, I have been able to tweak the index.php page and single.php page to reflect that I am using both categories and tags. Categories will allow me to group larger topics together and tags will allow me to focus on the specific so that I don’t get too long of a category list.

The Denver Post – Ill. students lose diplomas over cheers

The Denver Post – Ill. students lose diplomas over cheers
This is crazy.  Their parents and friends celebrated their child/friend earning their high school diploma and the school is penalizing them because in their opinion they were too disruptive.

Granted their were problems the previous year.  But it sounds that this year it was pretty well under control.

Let’s hope that cooler heads prevail and the students are able to get their diplomas without having to do 8 hours of community service.  They earned them already.

Judge Blocks Gift Ban Provision of Amendment 41

A Denver District Judge has banned the gift-ban provision of Amendment 41. This was a constitution vote by voters last fall that banned gifts over $50 and banned all gifts by lobbyists.
Gifts are now allowed to be given to elected officials and their families until there is a trial and verdict.

This had drawn some controversy because it was interpreted to include the ban of giving scholarships to sons and daughters of elected officials. I think that is ridiculous.

Steve Jobs and Bill Gates: historic discussion live from D 2007 – Engadget

Steve Jobs and Bill Gates: historic discussion live from D 2007 – Engadget
Everyone made fun of the fact that they would be on stage and it would be awkward for them and their hosts. But that is not the case. You have two really professional and smart people who both started their own companies and became quite successful.

It will be interesting to see how this is played in the media, but apparently it is a success.
