David Pogue Says it Best…

David Pogue has a good comment on James Kim.  One of the Good Guys has captured it the best of what people have been saying about James Kim.  Even though this happened a few days ago, I keep going back to the situation and what would I do for my family.  I don’t know, but I would do anything I could do to save them.
My family means the world to me and I know James’ meant the world to him.

Let us all pray for the Kim family and say a special prayer for James this weekend and holiday season as we look at and think of our own families.

We will miss you James!

Skewers in Washington, DC

Well I tried another restaurant in DC tonight and it was a like dinner last night. Good food and slow service. Skewers, located in the Dupont Circle area of Washington, DC, is a middle eastern restaurant and they have wonderful food. I had the special stuffed chicken breast. It was stuffed with spinach, asparagus, feta cheese, and pine nuts. It was served with cous cous and beans.
The latte was wonderful, but is was a little cool. It could have been warmer, especially since it was quite cold outside. But as with the meal last night, the service was quite slow. It took a long time for dinner to be served and the waiter didn’t really come around in between the wait staff filling the water.

It was a good meal, but be prepared for a really slow meal. Sometimes a slow meal is good, but this was just too slow.

Campus Chronicles, Hilarious Stories From Around the Country

Sports Illustrated ran some great stories on from around the college campuses this week.  The story “Campus Chronicles” looks at different stories from around college campuses.  There are some great ones from this week including a fraternity that stole 10,000 copies of the school newspaper because it said something bad about them or at the University of Idaho where someone broke in and replaced the announcement loop with porn.  Take a look.

Thunder Grill Service Needs Improvement

I am in DC for work and decided to go check out the Christmas decorations at Union Station.  It was decorated as well as I thought.  This year they had a theme, Christmas in Norway.  It was sponsored by SAS and had some interesting information on the country.  I don’t get the display they had on penguins though.
I decided to go back to a restaurant that I have been to a couple times before, Thunder Grill.  This is a southwest style restaurant that has pretty good food.  But there is a problem, the service is less than desirable. It took forever for my food to be brought out and then had to ask for a desert menu and then for my check.  They also did not keep my water glass filled, even though they kept asking if I wanted another beer.

The food is great, but if the service does not improve they will be in trouble.

My Condolences to the Kim Family

I just want to send my condolences to the Kim family for their tragic loss.  As a father of two young children, I don’t think I would have done anything different from him in heading out to try and find help for my family.  Once again, my condolences to the Kim family.  My families thoughts and prayers are with you.

They are coming back.

This is going to be a great way for us to keep up with our friends from Tech TV. Many of the Alums are going to be posting their information; videos, audio, and text. I am looking forward to seeing what gets posted up here.

We will miss you Ed Bradley.  It was always entertaining and educational to watch you interview some of the most influential people in the world and in turn became one of the most influential people in the world.
I always enjoyed your interviews.  Muhammad Ali, Michael Jackson, Condoleezza Rice, and Michael Jordan to name a few.  Especially when you covered our tradgedy here in Colorado.

We will miss you Ed Bradley.  Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
